YARRA EDGE is based on a vineyard in Yarra Valley region aiming to produce and share premium red and white wines. The main varieties produced are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and blend wines. With grapevines planted in 1983 and 1995, we select premium viniferous for winemaking. We regard the quality of wines as our first priority.

Our History

 

YARRA EDGE Vineyard was established in 1983 by the Bingeman family in Chirnside Park in the Yarra Valley. It was planted out with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Malbec based on the advice and guidance of the Middleton family. The wines were originally grown and made on site, released under the YARRA EDGE label. This changed in 1998, when the vineyard was leased to Yering Station, where the Cabernet consistently made single vineyard classification. In 2013, the property was purchased by the new owners, who were aware of the vineyard's pedigree, and with a 100% quality focus, set about restoring the entire property to its former glory.

 

Our Team

Vineyard Manager: Lucas Hoorn

Lucas Hoorn manages the vineyard with a “quality first” approach. This means that no stone is left un-turned in the pursuit of getting healthy, happy vines that will consistently produce quality fruit that speaks of the place it was grown in.

Winemaker: Dylan McMahon

Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate) looks after the winemaking for YARRA EDGE at Seville Estate. His gentle and minimalistic approach to winemaking allow the vines and site to do the talking. Dylan is an acclaimed winemaker, and his experience and mentality continually get the best out of our fruits.
